It is tradionally used for dyspepsia, flatulence and gastritis orders as well as for common cold, nasal catarrh, bronchitis and asthma. It has blood fat reducing, blood thinning and blood pressure lowering property.
In cosmetics it is used in oral rinse and tooth paste as well as in deodorants. In skin care it serves as anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antifungal or preserving agent. It is also applied in soaps and perfums. |

Odor: characteristic Use: Adam Michael has this to say “Also known as ajowan this certified organic CO2 smells very fresh, herbaceous warm, a little medicinal and slightly spicy. The aroma has similarities to both caraway and thyme. Light yellow in colour, of a pourable viscosity and the major constituent is thymol at 45%. Therapeutically this extract is said to be a good antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antifungal, anti-oxidative and antispasmodic. It is traditionally used for dyspepsia, flatulence and gastritis orders as well as for common cold and nasal catarrh.
