Peppermint Essential oil India
Odor: powerful, menthol mints Use: Spearmint is native to Europe. Since being introduced in the United States, it has become the most important essential oil for the country’s flavors and fragrances industry. Spearmint is also produced in great quantities in China. The origin of the common name “mint” comes from Greek mythology. The naiad Minthe (also Mentha and Mintha) engaged in a passionate, but illicit, affair with Hades, god of the Underworld. Persephone, his lawful wife, punished Minthe by changing her into an insignificant little plant. Hades, to assuage his grief, endowed the plant with a powerful fragrance, one, it is said, that is able to stoke the fires of love. |

Black Peppermint Essential Oil
Odor: characteristic Use: Adam Michael has this to say about Black Peppermint Essential Oil “Mentha piperita is a hybrid of water mint (Mentha aquatica) and spearmint (Mentha spicata). This hybrid peppermint grows all around the world and provides us with peppermint oils with subtle to extreme varying peppermint nuances. In some instances the material will be known as white peppermint as the stems and leaves are gloriously rich green in colour. This material offered by Hermitage is from Uttar Pradesh, India, which is between 3 and 4 hours north of Delhi in the foothills of Himalayas where you also find plenty of water. This essential oil is referred to as M x piperita black – due simply to the plant being much darker in appearance with reddish brown to nearly all brown leaves.” |

Peppermint Essential Oil India
Odor: Minty Sweet Woody Use: Peppermint is an aromatic plant born from a hybridisation between water mint and spearmint. The essence is used as a flavouring agent and for medicinal purposes, but is also used in perfumery for its fresh and masculine notes. The name of the plant was inspired from Greek mythology. According to the legend, the goddess Persephone, Pluto’s wife, was so jealous of his love for Minthe that she changed her into a plant. |
