Odor: characteristic Use: Clove leaf has a higher eugenol content (85/87%) than clove bud and should never be used directly on the skin or in large concentrations. It's excellent as an antiseptic because of the high proportion of eugenol. Clove oil is highly irritating to the skin and must be well diluted. |

Odor: characteristic Use: This EO helps stimulate digestion, restores appetite and relieves flatulence. The dental value of cloves is well know, the oil has been traditionally used to relieve toothaches. Clove Leaf Light
Odor: clove sweet spicy Use: Clove was much used by the Greeks, Roman and the Chinese for its medicinal value. One of the most potent antiseptics, Europeans doctors once breathed through clove-filled leather beaks to ward off the plague. The Chinese used it to ease toothache and as a breath sweetener, especially when talking to the Emperor. Clove has antiseptic properties and was used in the prevention of contagious diseases. Clove Leaf itself in ancient times was credited as being beneficial for skin irritations, digestive issues, and bad breath. Because of the cheaper price, Clove Leaf was often substituted for Clove Bud in soaps and candles. |

Clove Leaf Rect Essential Oil
Odor: Woody Spicy Eugenol Sweet Use: This tropical tree was discovered on the Molucca Islands and cultivated since the early 19th century. When clove buds are about to open, they are picked and sun dried for three days during which they obtain their dark colour and particular shape. They are then either sold as a spice or processed to obtain the extract. The leaves and twigs are also extracted to confer an herbaceous tone to fragrance compounds. |
