      Vetivert Essential Oil (Haiti)
Marina Barcenilla has this to say “The opening notes of this Haiti vetivert are woody with a hint of smokiness, not as rough and pungent as those of other vetiverts. The smokiness is quite pleasant, no so much smoky as in smoky air during a camp fire, but rather like smoked or lightly burnt wood, soft and sweet. Within 5 minutes there is an increase in sweetness and the odour becomes deep and beautiful, full and plush, and I detect a hint of greenness trying to peek through but not quite making it yet.

      Vetivert Heart
The main idea of Vetivert Heart is to allow the grassy and rooty nuances found in the heart to play the dominant role in the aroma and they really do. For me I also detect a delicate apple, rhubarb, stewed fruit nuance in the top notes; however I maybe on my own with this finding. Overall this is sensational material and I highly recommend it to everyone.

Vetiver Essential oil Haiti
Odor Description: woody, slightly smoky
A grass that can grow up to two meters tall, Vetiveria zizanoides hides its delicate fragrance in its fine, fibrous roots. Anchored deeply in the ground, vetiver develops a dense network of slender, hairy roots that can also reach two meters in length. The word vetiver comes from the Tamil vettiveru, meaning "dug/unearthed roots." Native Haitian vetiver differs from Javanese vetiver by virtue of its sparkling citrus notes that diffuse a fresh bitterness. They sweeten the earthy notes and the imposing, woody, slightly smoky warmth common to all vetivers. At harvest time, tufts of vetiver are cut back to ground level after being in the soil for 12 to 18 months, and are used to make handicrafts. Next, the farmers go over the ground using a pick to remove the clumps of fragrant roots, and the bare root slips are then replanted. The roots are washed and dried in the shade before distillation to collect the precious 100% pure and natural vetiver essential oil.

Vetiver Oil Haiti
Odor: characteristic
Use: Vetiver is a perennial grass of the Poaceae family, cultivated mainly for the fragrant essential oil distilled from its roots. The characteristics of the oil can vary significantly depending on where the grass is grown and the climate and soil conditions. The oil is amber brown and rather thick while the fragrance (which improves with aging)is described as deep, sweet, woody, smoky, earthy, amber, balsam. The oil distilled in Haiti has a more floral quality to it and is considered of higher quality than the oil from Java which has a smokier note. Indonesian vetiver is widely used for making derivatives such as Vetiverol and Vetiveryl Acetate We have installed facilities for reducing/removing the burnt note of Indonesian Vetiver oil and hence can supply both qualities of vetiver oil.
