It is exploited for its roots from which are collected small drops of gum generally softer than other resins. The resinoid of this gum is mainly used in medicine for its recognised healing properties. The essential oil obtained by distillation of the resinoid is used as a primary component of many quality perfumes for its green note but also acts as a fixative. |
