    • Van Aroma
Leading producer of Indonesian Natural Flavor and Fragrance ingredients
Provide Optimal Quality Indonesian Natural Essential Oils To The Global Market.
Van aroma was founded in 2006 with a mission to PROVIDE OPTIMAL QUALITY INDONESIAN NATURAL ESSENTIAL OILS TO THE GLOBAL MARKET. We setup our first facility in the city of Padang, West Sumatra. This is where the collection and standardisation of essential oils initially took place. At the time of our genesis, Patchouli Oil and Nutmeg Oil were the only two products we dealt with. Our progressive planning quickly led us to expand our services to products such as Clove Oil, Vetiver Oil and several other natural extracts from Java and Sulawesi. In 2009, we added our second facility in Jakarta to keep up with the growing demand for our products. This helped us in focusing on the production of further refined products like the many different derivatives of clove oil and patchouli oil. Today we have expanded our workforce and broadened our infrastuctural capabilities to include reaction, solvent extraction and steam distillation unit

Arctander describes it as “Powerful, warm-spicy, rather dry and almost sharp odor, drier and harder than that of Clove bud oil, less peppery-woody than that of Clove leaf oil… Extensively used in perfume compositions, conventionally in Carnation, for which purpose the author would recommend iso-Eugenol in spite of the almost unanimous use of Eugenol in published formulations. For incense, Oriental fragrances, Rose bases, certain types of Fougère, ‘Blue-Grass’ type fragrances, etc. and in all variations of modern Spice types, Eugenol is commonly used in large amounts.”

Odor: characteristic
Use: Eugenol is used in perfumeries, flavorings, essential oils and in medicine as a local antiseptic and anesthetic. It is a key ingredient in Indonesian kretek (clove) cigarettes. It was used in the production of isoeugenol for the manufacture of vanillin, though most vanillin is now produced from phenol or from lignin. When mixed with zinc oxide, eugenol forms a material which has restorative and prosthodontic applications in dentistry.

 Notes:

For this material, for pragmatic reasons, restrictive levels allowed by the QRA for certain categories but actually being higher than those already in place before applying the QRA, will temporarily not be implemented until the end of a 5 year monitoring phase. At the end of the 5 years the position will be reevaluated again.

(1) IFRA would recommend that any material used to impart perfume or flavour in products intended for human ingestion should consist of ingredients that are in compliance with appropriate regulations for foods and food flavourings in the countries of planned distribution and, where these are lacking, with the recommendations laid down in the Code of Practice of IOFI (International Organisation of the Flavor Industry). Further information about IOFI can be found on its website (www.iofi.org).

(2) Category 11 includes all non-skin contact or incidental skin contact products. Due to the negligible skin contact from these types of products there is no justification for a restriction of the concentration of this fragrance ingredient in the finished product.
